The NS 3900 was a 4-6-0 “Ten-Wheeler” type steam locomotive built for Nederlandse Spoorwegen and intended for heavy express passenger service. With four leading wheels for stable high-speed running and six large driving wheels for smooth power delivery, the 3900 class offered excellent acceleration, strong performance, and reliable long-distance operation. It was considered one of the most capable and prestigious Dutch passenger locomotives of the steam era.
